Christmas Tree
When growing up, it seems children love a great big beautiful Christmas tree. A tree that will hover over them with all the lights and decorations. They love to stare at it and sing next to it, and think about opening up all those presents under the tree. Decorating the tree can be so much fun for children. Picking out their favorite ornaments, or putting on the ornaments they made at school for the tree. Every household has a ritual regarding the Christmas tree, and children learn the Family Ritual regarding the Christmas tree experience. When do you put it up, when do you take it down, when do you decorate it, what do you decorate it with, how big is the tree, is it real or fake, what is the color theme for the tree… The list can go on and on for the variables involved with the Christmas Tree Family Ritual. Children can brighten the Christmas tree experience, especially when they put the angel on top. Lifting the child up and getting that angel up real high, can be a very rememberable experience for the little ones. The lights can be a great night light for the children and add that special touch to Christmas Eve. Lighting for the tree can avail to so many options. Red, blue, silver, clear, white, lots of lights, small lights, large lights, and the list go on and on. It doesn’t in the “big picture” seem to matter what the Tree Ritual is, or what ornaments you use, or when you do what, or what color lights you use…. What matters is that you provide memories for your children that they can use to create memories to pass on to others.
