Mobile Broadband Growth to Continue Through Slowdown

A new report brought out by a market research group, which studies trends in technology, suggests growth in the mobile broadband sector will continue unhindered even through the rough market conditions.

ABI Research recently brought out a report entitled ‘Business Mobility Market Data’. This study points to a steady growth in the mobile broadband industry even during the global financial meltdown. A growth rate of nearly 17 percent is predicted over the next year for the sector. According to the research, while the growth of this industry will be most evident in the US, Eastern Europe and the Middle East will not lag far behind, with predictions of 27 percent and 26 percent revenue growth respectively.

The report estimates a Compound Annual Growth rate of 12 percent up to 2014 for the industry.

The sustainable growth of this sector in the face of poor economic conditions is attributed to the critical need of this service to businesses worldwide. More and more companies are realising the advantage of providing employees with mobile broadband and compatible devices. These make it easy for employers to keep in touch with workers at all times and enable employees to work from any location at any time.

Owing to these unique benefits, mobile broadband remains one area that has not suffered significant cutbacks in spite of the lack of funds. More and more companies are expected to invest towards enhancing their mobile broadband network so that employee productivity can be improved. With equipments like the Blackberry, mobile broadband laptop, and other devices, employees are no longer cut off from data or networks critical to their efficient functioning.
